When looking at the best way to organize all of my parents’ information, I decided on a combination of paper records and online records. A good old-fashioned storage box with important passwords printed out, and all pertinent information related to them and their household sorted into various file folders, and extra sets of labelled keys seemed like the way to go for me as a caregiver. I just came across this in a caregiver blog post and immediately felt a twitch coming on. OMG! The first image in my mind was someone trying to keep important caregiver files, contact lists, notes… with them all the time. Like, in the back seat of your car.

Oh, and a word about passwords. On the Simplify Caring App HELP website, help.simplifycaring.com, see our best practices recommendations. Select FAQ on the menu and see WE RECOMMEND, and then KEEPERSECURITY.COM. We’ve been using KeeperSecurity for years. It has my company’s passwords, client passwords, banking logins… in about 30 client folders, each with 3-5 or more passwords. I try to keep things simple, strong and safe. We built the Simplify Caring App that way too.

By the way, I checked the KeeperSecurity website today and see they have a Free Trial and recently posted a banner saying 1/2 off Black Friday sale. If your passwords are written down somewhere and you consider this safe, think again(?), and fix that please.
