How do you care?
When your loved one or patient needs more help, do you circle up, organize and get closer, or do you search for an app to help manage this new ‘to-do’ in your busy life?
We circle up. For my mother-in-law, many years ago. For my parents in COVID years and recent years. For my father-in-law who is in care and needs care, now. The time needed is carved out and we make ourselves available. Care becomes a priority, not an additional ‘to-do’ among other priorities. After all, when will you again get to accompany your loved one on their final journey?
If this sounds idealistic and an unrealistic value presentation, it is. Meanwhile, our tired inside voice can say: provide more help? I need help and that’s just with the full-on day to day!
But really, what is more simple? Someone needs you.
And you choose to step up. That’s the definition of a caregiver.
From this value foundation, we built an online tool and call it Simplify Caring. Its like the dedicated notebook you might be using. It’s also a secure, dedicated filing drawer, and its shareable with those you trust enough to share this cargiving road with.
Here’s what it isn’t:
- in competition with every other caregiver app popping up that promises increased ‘connectivity’.
- it doesn’t connect to your FB account or your calendar (it is secure)
- it doesn’t have cute AI generated images
- it doesn’t fly to conferences, enter elevator-pitch competitions or look for angel investors
- it isn’t free, we bootstrapped this project
